October News

October at Discovery

It's been a mixed few weeks weather wise, some stunning days mixed in with the storms, and again we're about to see how hurricane Lorenzo affects us, although it'll blow through quickly looking at the forecast.

We were extremely lucky to catch the last few rays of sunshine before the weather broke on the day of our Discovery Surf Club Social! The small surf conditions meant we decided to cancel the main surf competition and instead we all enjoyed a fun day at the beach, making the most of the food after a fun surf. Thank you to everyone for coming and celebrating a good year so far, it was a really nice opportunity for everyone to get together and have lots of laughs in the surf.

Wednesday Surf Club sessions have got off to a strong start and we are ready for the last few before October half term. Please book in by 5pm on Tuesday evenings if you are wanting to join us. We are now running on Winter times for Saturday Surf Club, meaning you can have a little lie in before coming down to see us! Times for Saturday mornings are 10:00-12:00 and both members and non-members are welcome to come. Again, please let us know if you'd like to come by 5pm at the latest on Friday.

As half term approaches, we are looking ahead at the holiday weeks. As it is always such a hit, we have decided to run a discounted October surf course, which will be running from Monday 21st to Friday 25th October, from 09:30 to 11:00 every day. The course is discounted to £99 for the 5 sessions, and is a great way to progress your surfing by getting plenty of water time.

Our shop base in Bigbury-on-Sea will also be open every day from 09:00 to 17:00 during the main half term week. We will be hiring out equipment so if you fancy getting in, either give us a call or pop down any time during the week.

With a bit of luck, we'll have great weather and waves for half term. It'll be brilliant to see you all getting in the water lots in the run up to Winter too.

Best wishes - Annika, Martin, Eva and The Discovery Team
